| OnePlus 10R |
The brand OnePlus is enough renowned in the last recent years for making extraordinary smartphones but the OnePlus 10R is different. Let's start.....
Performance
This OnePlus 10R is a new beginning for the OnePlus brand. This phone is not like a typical OnePlus phone and here is the processor is MediaTek Dimensity 8100 max which is slightly changed by OnePlus. The geekbench said it is something like Snapdragon 870 which is amazing for daily usage. The CPU is Octa-core (4x2.85 GHz Cortex-A78 & 4x2.0 GHz Cortex-A55) and the GPU is Mali-G610 MC6 with MediaTek APU 580. According to MediaTek, this chipset is 20% faster in GPU performance, 25% better in CPU performance and 20% more power-efficient than the previous years. The performance of this 10R is really amazing and this chipset is outstanding. The most powerful Genshin Impact running smoothly with 50-55 fps in max settings. There is no major heating issue like Snapdragon 888 but provides good performance in every situation.
Camera
The OnePlus camera is good but it's not providing the amazing results. In this new OpePlus 10R the combination of MediaTek and Sony IPX766 is a new journey for OnePlus. The camera setup of this phone is typical and the main camera is a 50 MP Sony IMX766 with f/1.8, 24mm (wide), 1/1.56", 1.0µm. The ultrawide camera is an 8 MP with f/2.2, 15mm, 1/4.0", 1.12µm and 120˚ ultrawide field of view. And the last Macro camera is a 2 MP with f/2.4 and the selfie camera is a 16 MP with f/2.4, 26mm (wide), 1/3.09", 1.0µm.
The main camera provides well-detailed results which look like a lot OnePlus 9 or 10 series. The contrast level is good but the daylight result comes with high contrast. The dynamic range should be improved but it's okay. The results come with some color boost. The ultrawide is not so impressive like the OnePlus 9 series. The night mode is great but sometimes it makes so bright and looks artificial. The portrait is enough good. The front camera result is not extraordinary. The video quality is up to 4K at 30fps and the stabilization works at 1080p at 30fps and the results are standard but nothing special.
Display
This display is a typical OnePlus standard display with 2412 x 1080 pixels and 394ppi. The aspect ratio is 20.1:9. The display is a 120hz fluid OLED panel that has 10-bit Color Depth and HDR10+ with Corning Gorilla glass which is the simply best is this stage. There is no color shifting issue. The content watching experience is good with HDR10+
The dual stereo speaker is great and the in-display fingerprint is fast and standard accurate.
Battery
This OnePlus 10R has a 5000mah battery with a regular 80w fast charger adaptor in box content. And this phone has another variant that has 120w SuperVooc charging with a 4500mah battery. The 5000mah regular variant takes up to 30 minutes to full charge with an 80w charger. The screen on time of this OnePlus 10R is 6 hours and this is 5 to 5.5 hours in extremely heavy usage. This power backup is supposed to be more but quite enough for a single day.
UI
This phone is running on Android 12 based Oxygen OS 12 which is looking something like Color OS global and Realme UI. This phone is running smoothly but the Oxygen OS not likely the previous Oxygen experience which is the main key features of OnePlus phones. There are some possibilities to face quite bugs and software issues but it's not sure. Because the OnePlus 8 and 9 series users faced so many software bugs after recent update. Oneplus should focus on this and then the OnePlus 10R may be the best selling OnePlus.
Design & Build Quality
Though OnePlus is a Chinese brand, they build extraordinary phone and they published always a refreshing design. But but but.........
This year the design of OnePlus 10R is not so impressive. This phone is looking like a lot typical Oppo or Vivo phone, but the phone is good enough. They removed their one of the key features in this 10R that is alert slider. OnePlus followed the box shape design for this OnePlus 10R. The thickness is 8.2 mm and weight is 186g which is great.
The overall build quality is really disappointing. Just the front panel is Gorilla glass but the side frame and back part build with plastic. There are so many Chinese phone who build with back glass and aluminum frame. The overall build quality is so disappointing in this range as a OnePlus phone.
Conclusion
Nowadays, OnePlus is like other Chinese brand like Xiaomi, Oppo, Realme, Vivo and they lost their previous reputation. The tech enthusiast and the OnePlus fanbase really disappointed with this OnePlus 10R. The design perspective OnePlus 10R is likely a OnePlus named Chinese cheap phone. The overall design and software experience is not likely a typical OnePlus phone which has a big fanbase for amazing Android experience. The important thing is they removed the alert slider for this 10R and which is one of the best features for OnePlus phones. The OnePlus 10R is an amazing phone except the design and build quality. The 10R is a recommended device and we hope OnePlus must improve it's software experience.
